At the Napa Queer Leaders Coalition, we are dedicated to uniting motivated LGBTQ+ individuals and allies in Napa County through various initiatives such as events, volunteering, advocacy, and activism. Our aim is to create a supportive and inclusive community where everyone can thrive and express their authentic selves.
What We Do

In rural areas like Napa County, LGBTQ+ individuals face significant challenges due to the absence of visibility, a centralized hub, or an organized Pride Month. This gap hinders the unity and inclusivity of our local LGBTQ+ community.
So we're trying to fix that.
We serve as an incubator for LGBTQ+ local action realness. Our vibe is to empower LGBTQ+ individuals and allies through strategic initiatives in organizing, volunteering, social events & advocacy throughout Napa County.
We commit to celebrating and uplifting our community members while they are here with us, living, breathing, and making history and art.
Polls show that LGBTQ+ people are coming out at earlier ages - that’s because visibility and representation matters and creates change. We seek visibility so that our younger LGBTQ+ generations can see themselves represented where they live and conceptualize themselves well, safe, healthy, living openly and freely.
We envision a Napa County where every LGBTQ+ individual thrives in an inclusive and equitable community, empowered by diverse stories and purposeful action.

Mission
Our mission is to empower and uplift the LGBTQ+ community and its allies in Napa County by providing resources, support, and opportunities for growth and advocacy. We are committed to fostering safe and inclusive communities where everyone can live authentically and without fear of discrimination. We are determined to make sure our voices are heard, our stories told, and our experiences understood.
Why "Queer"?
Why do we use “queer”? Because it’s ours. Once used to shame us, “queer” has been reclaimed by generations of same-sex attracted, gender-diverse, trans, nonbinary, and expansive people who refused to be reduced, erased, or made small.
For more than half a century, our communities have turned “queer” into a word of power. It holds what rigid labels often cannot: the fullness of who we are. Bold. Dynamic. Diverse. Unapologetic.
For the Queer Leaders Coalition, “queer” is a word that makes room. It connects us across identities, experiences, generations, and movements. It honors the “Q” and the “T” in LGBTQ+ and the political weight they carry, whether chosen by us or forced upon us.
We are here to build community. To challenge systems. To protect one another. To lead out loud. And in Napa County, we allow our queer identities, our queer joy, our queer grief, our queer power, and our queer futures to take up space.
Vision
We envision a Napa County where LGBTQ+ individuals and allies are celebrated, respected, and given equal opportunities in all aspects of life. Our vision is to create a community that is free from prejudice and where diversity is embraced and celebrated.
Who We Are
The Queer Leaders Coalition is a grassroots community of LGBTQ+ folks and allies from Napa County, united by a vision of a place where everyone, no matter who they are, is celebrated, respected, and given equal opportunities.
We are not a nonprofit, and we don’t think liberation comes through a 501(c)(3). Instead, we are accountable to our community and members sit on various self-governning workgroups to push our work forward. We do not answer to a Board, funders, paperwork or tax statuses.
